American Truck Simulator Peterbilt 387 Truck Download MODs

Peterbilt Motors Company is a manufacturer of medium and large trucks, Class 5 to Class 8, headquartered in Denton, Texas. The company is a subsidiary of Paccar. Founded in 1939, Peterbilt operated industrial plants in Madison, Tennessee (1969), Denton, Texas (1980) and Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec.

From the early 1960s to the mid-1980s, the company relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California with its headquarters, division and all main plants in Newark, California. The Newark plant closed in 1986, and the offices and plants were moved to Denton in 1993.

In the first half of the 20th century, Tacoma Washington plywood manufacturer and lumber entrepreneur Theodore A.Peterman faced a lumber logistics problem. He could not get fast or efficient records moving newly cut timber from the forest to his mill.

To improve forest operations, he found it necessary to improve existing methods: floating logs downstream or steam tractors and even horse-drawn tractors. Peterman knew that if he developed the emerging automotive technology to build special vehicles, he could eventually solve their problems.

To that end, he rebuilt army vehicles that had been abandoned, improving the technology with each successive vehicle. Soon after, he bought Fageol Motors of Oakland, California, in 1938 to supplement his needs to develop a truck chassis. Fageol had gone out of business in 1932. Before 1938, the Great Depression had driven down property values to almost zero.

Peterman bought the defunct truck factory and began producing customised chain-driven trucks exclusively for his timber business. In 1939, he began selling his powerful trucks to the public and named his company the Peterbilt Motor Company.
