Pudsey is a market town of Leeds in the West Yorkshire area of England.

It was an independent town that was incorporated into the Leeds Metropolitan District in 1974, and lies midway between Bradford and Leeds city centres. It has a population of 32,391.

Pudsey is made up of the towns of Fartown, Troydale, Littlemoor, Lowtown, Uppermoor and Chapeltown. It also has the village of Fulneck, the district of Stanningley and part of the district of Tyersal.

Pudsey has given its name to "Pudsey Bear", the mascot of the annual BBC Marathon fundraising marathon for children in need. It also lends its name to the local parliamentary constituency of Pudsey, of which it is a member.

The name Pudsey appears in the Domesday Book of 1086 as "Podechesaie" and "Podechesai", and in the 6th century Pudsey appears to have been the centre of the kingdom of Elmet, which maintained its independence for over 200 years after other smaller kingdoms had been dominated by the Angles.

The town was famous in the 18th and 19th centuries for its woollen cloth production.
